WIC is excited to announce the Award Winner of the Defying Gravity Award for 2020 – Jessica Eustace from Campbell High School. The WIC Defying Gravity Award recognises the impressive contribution of a woman, early in her ICT career, who demonstrates significant talent and commitment to her career in the industry.
This year’s winner Jess was nominated for her advocacy work of females in STEM. Jess works with students who are completing projects in robotics, programming and computing. Jess is the only female school-based Information Technology Officer in the ACT government who also holds a teaching degree.
Congratulations Jess on your Award! We look forward to working with you to further inspire more young women into a career in ICT.

WIC is a Canberra based not-for-profit organisation bringing people together to champion women in Information and Communication. Our vision is to be the premier organisation for women in Information and Communication in Canberra. As part of this vision, WIC has set up the Defying Gravity Award.
The Defying Gravity Award seeks to recognise the amazing work done every day by women in the Information and Communication industry.
Nominations are sought for women based in the Canberra region.
The Defying Gravity Award past winners have represented the Canberra business, government and academic industries.
