WICked Woman of the Year Award 2020

Congratulations to Jade Carson

WIC is excited to announce the Winner of the WICked Woman of the Year Award for 2020 – Jade Carson from Department of Skills Education and Employment. The WICked Woman Award recognises the amazing work done every day by a woman in the ICT industry. Nominations are sought for women based in the Canberra region, who have made a significant contribution, acted as a role model or mentor for women and encouraged women into the industry.

This year’s winner Jade was nominated for her contributions to the industry, her reputation as a trailblazer with her creative and strategic leadership style and her strong focus on achieving business outcomes.  Jade is passionate about getting girls and women into technology. She established the Women in Data and Digital Network within the then Commonwealth Department of Education building a supportive community where women could learn, share and grow.

Congratulations Jade on your Award! We look forward to continuing to work with you to further advocate and to inspire more women to join a career in the ICT industry.

About the Award

WIC is a Canberra-based not-for-profit organisation bringing people together to champion women in Information and Communication. Our vision is to be the premier organisation for women in Information and Communication in Canberra. As part of this vision, WIC has set up the WICked Woman of the Year. The award will be presented at the WIC Award Evening on the 8th of March 2022 at our Annual Dinner Debate Evening.

The WICked Woman Award seeks to recognise the amazing work done every day by women in the Information Communication and Technology industry.

The WICked Woman Award showcases a leader in our community who, through their actions and achievements, exemplifies the powerful contribution that women make in ICT and who contributes to the ongoing advancement of gender equity more broadly.

WICKed Woman nominees are recognised as women who have made a significant contribution to the ICT industry, acting as a role models or mentors to other women and who continue to encourage women into the industry.

The WICked Woman Award past winners have represented the Canberra business, government, and academic industries.
