SUMMARY:WIC Breakfast Series - "She Believed She Could So She Did" - 11 March 2020
DESCRIPTION:Join WIC for the first breakfast for 2020 in our breakfast series “She Believed She Could so She Did”.  Members tickets are available – discount access code will be emailed to you or contact info@wic.org.au.  \nThis series will focus on recognizing\, appreciating and promoting discussion on the topic of what we can achieve when we believe in ourselves. \nThe first speaker the year will be Chui Yong the Coordinator Information Security\, Australian Federal Police and the 2019 WICked Woman of the Year winner. \nMs Chui Yong\, WICked Woman of the Year 2019\n \nChui is the AFP’s Chief Information Security Officer and the organisation’s current head of protective security.\nShe returned to the AFP in April last year\, to continue her association with the organisation which had begun 20 years earlier as a Federal Agent. Prior to her current appointments\, she ran the Commonwealth government’s cyber security prevention program as an Assistant Director-General at the Australian Cyber Security Centre. \nAmongst other achievements\, she led assessments on technology vulnerabilities\, delivered risk assessments on national critical infrastructure\, ran the Commonwealth government’s red ‘testing’ teams and reshaped the Information Security Manual. \nChui began her technology career as a security engineer at Dimension Data in Sydney before moving to provide management consulting services at KPMG. She holds a BA (Psychology) LL.B\, Grad Dip Legal Practice and an MBA (Technology Management) from the AGSM. She is a certified portfolio manager and is both a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. \nA keen learner\, she enjoys demonstrating a continuing literacy in contemporary enterprise technologies and assurance issues by sitting certification exams\, and is now also enrolled in postgraduate studies in data science at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. She has served as a general service officer in the Australian Army and is the proud recipient of a Defence Service Medal. \n Chui has an interest in connecting with women who share in her curiosity about the concept of excellence and how it might be achieved through continuous investment across a lifespan. She is delighted to be WICked Woman of the Year. \n  \n
