WIC Breakfast Series – “Taking Charge”

WIC is proud to host 6 breakfast networking events each year.

Please note that this event will be hosted at the National Museum of Australia, Peninsula Room overlooking the lake.

Please join us for the second breakfast for 2022 in our breakfast series focused on “Taking Charge”

The topic for this series is “Taking Charge” on our career journey. This year we want to focus on the variety of roles within the ICT sector and how taking charge of your career is important, as well as share ways to do this.

Our speaker for this event is Lauren Schulz-Carnes, Head of Global Communications and Mary-Jane (MJ) Salier, Head of Regulatory @ Verizon.

MJ and Lauren will interview each other on their career journeys.

MJ will share her story of working across legal, product and now regulatory across Asia and Canada. MJ Salier is the General Counsel, International Product at Verizon with overall responsibility for ensuring Verizon’s products are delivered in a compliant fashion in non-US countries and supporting global sales teams in determining Verizon’s ability to provide customer requested bespoke solutions. MJ is an experienced in-house legal advisor with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology, telecommunications and managed services industry. MJ served as General Counsel for OzEmail and the Worldcom Group, prior to Verizon’s acquisition.

Lauren will share her story on how she moved from working for the US Marine Corps as the liaison between military forces and civil authorities to the corporate world as Head of Global Communications, Verizon. Lauren holds a Masters of International Affairs, Security Policy from Columbia University, Advanced Certificate Degree, International Affairs and a BA in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland.

We have allocated seats to assist National Museum in serving the correct dietary requirements. We ask that you ensure you select dietary requirements at the time of registration.

The event registration will close on the 11th of April as we need to finalise numbers and dietary requirements.
