SUMMARY:WIC Breakfast Series 2026 - 29 October
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the last breakfast of 2026 in our breakfast series. \nOctober’s special guest speaker is Sarah-Louise Macdonald. \nSarah-Louise MacDonald is a Client CTO at Unisys\, where she works with clients to navigate complex technology environments\, emerging technology and the practical realities of digital transformation. \nHer career in technology has not followed a conventional path. She has worked across public policy\, risk and governance\, business and enterprise architecture\, software engineering\, consulting and executive leadership. Before joining Unisys\, Sarah-Louise was CEO of Australian technology company TBF Digital and\, prior to that\, founded and led the Software Engineering Practice at Synergy Group. Earlier in her career\, she spent six years with Pegasystems\, becoming the first Principal Business Architect appointed in the Asia-Pacific region. \nThat varied career has shaped Sarah-Louise’s view of resilience. For her\, resilience is less about being unaffected by setbacks and more about being able to adapt\, learn\, rebuild and keep making deliberate choices about what comes next. Her career has included taking on roles before she felt completely ready\, building new capabilities from the ground up\, working in environments where women remain underrepresented\, navigating significant professional change\, and repeatedly moving beyond the boundaries of the role she was originally hired to perform. \nSarah-Louise has been an advocate for women in technology throughout her career. She has mentored women and girls considering careers in STEM\, served on the Australian Computer Society Canberra Branch Executive Committee and the AIIA ACT Council\, and guest lectured at the University of Canberra. She was awarded the ACS Leonie Warne Medal for ICT Leadership and has twice been a WICked Woman of the Year finalist. \nShe is particularly interested in making technology careers more accessible to people who do not fit the traditional mould of what a technologist or technology leader is expected to look like\, and in having more candid conversations about the persistence\, reinvention and occasional stubbornness that can sit behind a successful career. \nWe have allocated seats to assist The Marion in serving the correct dietary requirements. We ask that you ensure you select dietary requirements at the time of registration. \nThe event registration will close on the 19 of October as we need to finalise numbers and dietary requirements. Late registrations cannot be catered for. \nAny changes must be made 10 days prior to the event by emailing info@wic.org.au \nWIC Members who have paid their annual membership fee please check your newsletter for the promo code or contact us at info@wic.org.au.
